Figure Out Why You Overeat

When I say figure out why you overeat, I just want to clarify that I am not saying you have some serious mental issues or deep-seated trauma or anything like that. Sometimes overeating is just a matter of habit, and you just don’t realize it. In my case, I did have issues with food but I also grew up eating large servings at meal-times. I grew up in a big family, so when I learned to cook I learned to cook big meals. Add to that having a dad who had a phobia about throwing away food, and it’s easy for me to see now why I overate so much. I was so physically active that I was able to stay a slender weight for the longest time, but the 3rd baby slowed me down and the pounds piled on.

If you do indeed have food issues or emotional pain that is causing you to overeat, a counselor is able to help you understand why you overeat and give you advice on how to get past that.
