I’ve heard about some actresses, singers, models and other women who work in entertainment that keep themselves on a strict diet every day except for a once-a-month splurge. One day out of the month they allow themselves to eat whatever they want. I actually thought about doing this, until I realized that it goes against everything I’m trying to learn about food and eating. It was my problems with overeating that caused me to gain so much weight in the first place. Part of why I overeat was because I used food as a solace and a reward. By using this method of eating I would still be using food as a reward. I also this would cause me to fixate on food and ‘that day’ I could eat lots of junk and stuff myself. Stuffing myself is no longer something I want to do or something I want to see as in any way rewarding. It is also my hope that one day I will no longer be enticed by junk food to the point where junk food triggers me into overeating. So no once-a-month splurge for me!

sometimes I will do there Sunday splurge…but I just try hard to never, ever go overboard you know? Like maybe on a Sunday splurge I will have a candy bar but I will never have two because that’s rediculous.
The thing about food is that it’s good…and the more fatty it is the better and I just never want to be one of those people who can’t give myself a treat everynow and then.
Of course when you are actively dieting…no treats, that’s obvious. But once you get down to your goal weight I think a splurge every now and again is great for you.
I also weigh myself everyday. This way if I have gained a couple pounds I can take them off while it’s only a couple pounds not 5 or 10!
