Are You Willing to Face Your Feelings?

I write in an old-school paper journal, which is just a notebook. I go through 2-3 notebooks a month and it really helps to clear my head, especially during those times when I feel like I must overeat on something salty/greasy/sticky/whatever or else I’m gonna die. Over the past year I have weathered this feeling most of the time it’s hit me and I have really allowed myself to feel my feelings rather than stuff them in/comfort myself with food. It is a very scary process to go through but so freeing when you finally confront all the crap that’s been holding you back.

  1. I used to journal in high school every day, until my mother invaded my privacy and read it. Since then, I’ve never kept a journal, but you’re absolutely right about the benefits it provides. Journaling is very therapeutic.

  2. Yes, it is! It helps so much.
