<p>I need to make sure I am eating right, too. I try to eat fresh fruit and raw veggies every day, and drink lots of water, like at last 60 oz of water.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have written before how important getting enough sleep is for losing weight and keeping it off. I want to stress again how important it is for your overall health and well-being. My sleep schedule has been off the past week or so, and I have really been feeling it. Not only has it made me feel tired, it triggered an episode of sleep paralysis. This is a common affliction suffered by people who have narcolepsy or, like me, suffere circadian rhythm disturbances (I have a heart murmur), but you don&#8217;t have to have either of these conditions in order for this to happen to you. It&#8217;s a very scary event where I can&#8217;t move and can barely breathe. I feel as if I am suffocating and sometimes like there is a pressing on my chest. When I was a child and this happened, it often felt like someone was hovering over me and/or whispering urgently right next to my ear. It feels like it lasts forever but it is really about a minute or so. It is so terrifying, even though I have experienced this all my life each time feels like the first time. I try to talk myself through it and reassure myself that I am not dying and that movement and normal breathing will resume soon.</p>
<p>I have done a lot of research on this and talked to doctors, and apparently this temporary sleep paralysis is not dangerous to the person and does not cause any permanent damage. I disagree because I don&#8217;t understand how the stress and anxiety from this doesn&#8217;t cause wear and tear on the heart. So my goal is to reduce these episodes in my life by making sure I get enough sleep. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I can&#8217;t overstate the importance of getting enough sleep. Due to some circumstances earlier this week I was up for 2 whole days and nights and by dawn of the third morning, I was a zombie. I felt awful and weary deep down in my bones. I had experience with sleep deprivation from my early college years so I knew I had to sleep the third night or else I would start hallucinating and/or trigger a breakdown in my immune system. Having no desire to get sick or start mentally spazzing out, I went to bed at a decent hour. It took me hours to settle down and actually fall asleep, to my surprise, even though I have dealt with insomnia before and knew how hard it can be to get back to sleep. I was so tired I thought that I would fall asleep right away. I guess going off my sleep routine triggered my latent insomnia. </p>
<p>Why is getting enough sleep so important? Physically sleep is the time when your body &#8216;cleans house&#8217;. Mentally sleep is the time your mind is able to process all the information taken in during the day. Sleep is extremely important to your overall health. Check this out:</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">Even a slight deprivation of night&#8217;s sleep can negatively affect one&#8217;s health. According to the studies conducted by the University of Pennsylvania, those who slept for six hours were later diagnosed with increase of certain chemicals in blood associated with heart diseases and diabetes.</span></p>
